Kahalu'u Beach is nearby and is famous for its excellent swimming, snorkeling, and surfing for beginners, there are two 18 hole golf courses, parasailing, sailing, big game fishing, helicopter rides (30 miles north), kayaking and snorkel/sail trips out of Keauhou Bay and of course the volcano.
